THE WIZARD AND RACISM
Keywords: Comedy, Magic, Racism
WIZARD: 18-year old boy with brown hair and a heart shaped face. He has heterochromia, which means he has different coloured eyes (green and blue eyes). Clothes: white shirt with sleeves rolled up, dark blue formal suit pants and black shoes.
DWARFS: Both dwarfs’ heights do not go higher than Wizard’s chest. The white-skin dwarf has long, interlaced beard and shoulder-length hair with a mad scientist hairstyle. Both his hair and bread are light-brown. He has also green eyes. The dark-skin dwarf has trimmed beard and long hair in a ponytail. Both his hair and beard are black. His eyes are also black. Clothes: both have earth-dirty working clothes and brown steal toe work boots.

PAGE ONE – SIX PANELS
There is an enormous white, marble table in a room. Walls have several shelves with books and bottles. These bottles have different shapes and sizes filled with magical potions for several purposes. Each bottle has an ID tag where is written the purpose of it. There are no windows. There’s a coat rack at the right side between a bookshelf and a door (which is partially seen in this panel). Over it, there is a black, formal suit coat and an event ID (the intention is to give the idea the Wizard came from a formal event and started to work immediately). Above the table several books are open and there are empty and half-used bottles, and a sprayer head.
The WIZARD is facing the table and he’s working with his arms up, while mixing different ingredients. His shirt is unfurled and his head is leaning in concentration.
[View downward to look at the character] Wizard’s left hand is holding a container (which belongs to the sprayer) that is half full with a white and sparkly blue mixture. With his right hand, he adds a dark-brown liquid from another bottle to the mixture.
[View downward to look at the character] Wizard’s right hand adds a sparkly yellow dust to the mixture in the container that is now two-thirds full with a green liquid.
WIZARD (whispering): Abracadabra!
Wizard places back the sprayer head. Its container shows now a purple colour and sparkly pink mixture His facial expression reveals deep concentration. You can see the door at his left side. More shelves with books can be seen behind him.
SFX (someone knocking the door): KNOCK, KNOCK
[View upward to look at the character] Wizard raises the sprayer like a won prize, proud of his work and smiling with his eyes sparkling with determination. He’s sweating a little and has some dark circles under his eyes.
WIZARD: I did it!
Two Dwarfs with boring expressions enter in the room.
WHITE DWARF: You did what?
PAGE TWO – SIX PANELS
The sprayer is being held by the Wizard’s right hand. There is a tag under the sprayer saying “Anti-Human Species” written on it.
SFX (Wizard): TCHARAN!
[A shot of the character’s face and shoulders] The two Dwarfs looked confused to the sprayer.
WHITE DWARF: Huh?
DARK DWARF: What is that?
The Wizard sprays both Dwarfs. Sparkly purple and pink clouds surround them. The white Dwarf has both his eyes closed and moving one of his arms up and down. The dark Dwarf has an eye open and the other eye closed with both arms up to protect his face.
BLACK DWARF: What in the hell?!
Both Dwarfs appear with their skin swelled and full of severe acne. The skin turned out to be (literally) white and their clothes are the only details that distinguish them from each other.
The Wizard looks shocked with the result. He’s scratching his head in wonder while looking to the sprayer.
WIZARD: I don’t get it…
DWARFS (off-panel): You IDIOT!
Wizard runs away (bottom right corner; with a sorry expression on his face; waist-up shot) from the two furious Dwarfs (upper left corner; full shot) each one holding baseball bats with a menacing manner.
WHITE DWARF: What have you done?!
WIZARD: I just wanted everyone to be equal… and stop the racism!
I would love to hear what you think about it! Too many panels? What about the descriptions? Are they useful? They lack in details? There are too many details? 🙂
Does it have too many panels? What about the descriptions? Are they useful? They lack in details? There are too many details? 🙂
